Review:
This hotel has compact fluorescent lightbulbs in guestrooms and common areas, saving lots of energy in the process. The lighting is pleasant and more than adequate for the job.
Wastebaskets aren't lined, saving resources, and are wiped out as needed.
The shower curtain is woven nylon, rather than heavy-duty plastic, reducing off-gassing produced by plastics. Water pressure was very good, speaking of showers.
The basic bathroom amenities of shampoo, conditioner, and lotion were available. A wider array of amenities were offered from the front desk if you needed them -- sewing kit, shoe shine mit, and toothpaste and brush, for starters; all you had to do was ask. This seems like a great alternative to the waste of supplying anything a guest could want, or not.
Guests are provided a warm cookie at check in; for those who like Ghiradelli chocolate chip and walnut cookies it's a treat!
The hotel is located across from the old Stapleton airport that has been repurposed into a business and shopping park. From what we could see, the space is well done. Quebec Street is noisy because of the amount of traffic on it, but it does make this hotel convenient to DIA, downtown Denver, and various business areas around the city.
The Sweet Dreams bed was comfortable. There were plenty of pillows on the bed so I was able to find one that was squishy enough for me while my husband found one thaht was firm enough for him. The biggest problem for my husband was that he had a couple of feathers poking him during the night.
The front desk staff were pleasant. Our room had special little touches, including a lovely silk plant. The lobby and common areas had live plants. The hotel seemed clean and well taken care of.
