Reviews

What a fun hotel! The location is good, the energy is great, and their attention to environmental issues is pretty good. For example, you can select whether you want a newspaper delivered to your room or not. But there aren't any compact fluorescent bulbs in the guestrooms or common areas. The waste baskets are unlined, reducing our reliance on oil and reducing the non-biodegradable contributions to landfills.

I loved being able to open my windows, though since it was cold and wet the day I was there, I didn't leave them open for long. The windows were covered by room-darkening curtains, which was great in the morning since I wanted to sleep in. And the shower curtain was non-plastic, another plus for air quality and reducing our reliance on oil.

A couple of hospitality issues: there were no pillow covers under the pillow cases, a habit I find icky; my pillows were too thick for my comfort; the reading chair lacked a reading light; there was a conveniently located power strip at the desk for my computer, as well as for the TV and DVD player; the bedside light being connected to the light at the door so I couldn't control the room lighting as well as I would have liked.

The staff are great! They clearly love their jobs, and do a great job at them. Anything you need, they'll help you get. They are good at directions, dining information, and conversation. What a great and green hotel.

Review this hotel

This website is for you and your fellow green travelers. You can make it more useful by sharing your travel experiences at the different environmentally friendly hotels or eco-lodges you stay in. The more comments and reviews we have on the hotels in the database, the more you and other environmentally conscious travelers have to go on for making decisions.

When you review a hotel, the information we are looking for is what your experience was; how you felt about what you saw and did in regards to the hotel. Did you notice any environmentally sensitive steps taken that aren't covered by either the attributes list or the hotel's website? For example, were the shower curtains fabric rather than plastic, the wastebasket unlined, or did the room smell fresh without having been perfumed? Does the housekeeping staff honor the towel/sheet program? Are Styrofoam products offered at any food establishments connected to the environmentally friendly hotel? We want the good and the bad so other green travelers can make informed decisions.

There are lots of little things that go into making a great experience, and lots of little things that go into making a great green experience. That's what we are looking for in the reviews we receive. All comments and submissions become the property of HealthyStays.com, LLC and may be published.
