We attended a conference in Pittsburgh that was a few blocks from this hotel and were very pleased with the easy access between the two hotels. And we were thrilled to be at this hotel because our room had nice views, were spacious and bright. We could also darken the room when we napped in the afternoon. Perfect.

While the hotel didn't promote a sheet reuse program they did honor the note I left on the bed to not change the sheets. The towel reuse program was honored, though they left extra towels too. That was particularly odd since we'd commented on how nice it was to have only as many towels as we were going to need; now we have more than we need.

The coffee pot worked well, but I didn't get my decaf coffee since there was only regular. No big deal, just a minor disappointment. While there were glass glassware there were styrofoam cups -- ICK! Fortunately I travel with my own coffee cup so used it, which I would have done anyway.

Not one CFL was in the guestroom, a huge surprise to me. It was in contrast to the hotel we stayed in our first night in town. The HVAC worked well to keep our room at the right temperature -- and was set to a moderate temperature when we arrived -- and to block highway noise.

This wasn't the greenest Marriott I've stayed in, but it was ok, and better than the conference hotel.

Review this hotel

This website is for you and your fellow green travelers. You can make it more useful by sharing your travel experiences at the different environmentally friendly hotels or eco-lodges you stay in. The more comments and reviews we have on the hotels in the database, the more you and other environmentally conscious travelers have to go on for making decisions.

When you review a hotel, the information we are looking for is what your experience was; how you felt about what you saw and did in regards to the hotel. Did you notice any environmentally sensitive steps taken that aren't covered by either the attributes list or the hotel's website? For example, were the shower curtains fabric rather than plastic, the wastebasket unlined, or did the room smell fresh without having been perfumed? Does the housekeeping staff honor the towel/sheet program? Are Styrofoam products offered at any food establishments connected to the environmentally friendly hotel? We want the good and the bad so other green travelers can make informed decisions.

There are lots of little things that go into making a great experience, and lots of little things that go into making a great green experience. That's what we are looking for in the reviews we receive. All comments and submissions become the property of HealthyStays.com, LLC and may be published.
