Best Green Hotels: Aprile B&B

Aprile B&B
Torino, Italy

Comments:
Torino, Italy, is an ancient Roman city. The city walls are still visible, and encircle the heart of the city. Enjoy an open air market -- or plaza -- year round and flea market on Saturdays.

This hotel was built with environmental issues in mind. Natural paints and wall finishes and wood floors are what you'll see. The lack of glues and off-gassing finishes, along with natural laundry products, is what your enjoy and experience.

Review:
We stayed here for 4 days in June. The place is charming, the owner is so nice and moreover a very cultivated person who knows a lot about her city and gave us a million of unusual and clever tips on how enjoy our stay in Torino.

We liked the positive attitude to the ecological way of life. The owner showed us the rooms and they're exactly like shown on the website. It's an historical building and restorations were made using natural materials, respecting the spirit of the house.

We loved the hand made beds. The owner really washes bed linens and towels with Marsiglia soap and essential oils, and you can feel the difference!! She makes soap on her own, and she gave us a box of it, which we are using here at home.

Baths have a new technology to save water and we just could find green lamps and bulbs! Very clever attitude -- and quite rare in Italy we think, this was our impression.

We really recommend this place -- it offers more than you expect and Turin is a dazzling place to stay.
