Hotel staff informs guests at check-in that sheet change is every other day and guests can opt out by placing a note on their bed of leaving word with the front desk. Energy efficent lightbulbs are used in the rooms and all lights are turned off when the housekeeping staff leaves the room. I saw the staff at the front desk reusing printer paper that had already been used once for their reports. Instead of a newspaper being delievers to each room, they keep them at the front desk and recycle the ones that are not used.
