Best Green Hotels: Elk Mountain Resort

Elk Mountain Resort
Montrose, Colorado, United States

Comments:
This hotel is self-contained, but if you want to venture out to see the sites, you can get to Telluride in about 1.5 hours, the Black Canyon in about 2 hours, and Ouray in about 1.5 hours. You can visit old mines, ski, fish, and tour various museums.

This hotel offers a wide array of activities, including a climbing wall, horseback riding (summer), snow mobiling and cross country skiing (winter), and a shooting range.

The restaurant is first class, with well trained staff prime food. The menu is diverse and the food fresh.

The lodge has compact fluorescent lights, but none seem to be in the guestrooms.
