Comments

There is a green procurement program, including the reduction of pre-packaging, ensuring that purchase like amenities, supplies, equipment, fixtures and furniture are environmentally sensitive. They encourage green conference planning as well. It's too bad the hotel doesn't more obviously promote its green actions.

This hotel donates soaps and amenities, re-usable items (furniture, linens, and such), and food from buffet lines to shelters, food banks, and soup kitchens. Employees raise money for endangered species preservation. The hotel hosts a "green contest" where each hotel's Green Committee competes for environmental superiority, often exceeding 100 environmental initiatives/year.

The golf course green space is a refuge and habitat for wildlife and local flora, and is enrolled in the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary System. The hotel is reducing its use of pesticide, it is conserving water, and educating the public.

Review this hotel

This website is for you and your fellow green travelers. You can make it more useful by sharing your travel experiences at the different environmentally friendly hotels or eco-lodges you stay in. The more comments and reviews we have on the hotels in the database, the more you and other environmentally conscious travelers have to go on for making decisions.

When you review a hotel, the information we are looking for is what your experience was; how you felt about what you saw and did in regards to the hotel. Did you notice any environmentally sensitive steps taken that aren't covered by either the attributes list or the hotel's website? For example, were the shower curtains fabric rather than plastic, the wastebasket unlined, or did the room smell fresh without having been perfumed? Does the housekeeping staff honor the towel/sheet program? Are Styrofoam products offered at any food establishments connected to the environmentally friendly hotel? We want the good and the bad so other green travelers can make informed decisions.

There are lots of little things that go into making a great experience, and lots of little things that go into making a great green experience. That's what we are looking for in the reviews we receive. All comments and submissions become the property of HealthyStays.com, LLC and may be published.
