Hotel Higgins Landing George Town, Exuma, Bahamas |
Comments:
Salt Stone is the highest point on Stocking Island, once used to alert passing ships they could come for salt and supplies. Now, it's a beautiful landmark for tourists. If you don't want to go to the highest point on the island, maybe you'd enjoy diving to the lowest part under the island -- cave diving at Hurricane Hole in Exuma is the place for you.
Water activities include diving, snorkeling, boats and fishing. The shallow reefs are great for snorkelers, and the white sand beaches and silver palms add to everyone's enjoyment.
Shop the Straw Market for locally made Bahamian souvenirs. Visit the Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park to experience exotic reptiles, rare birds and colorful fish.
Though the hotel doesn't offer highspeed internet int he guestrooms, it does make it available from the dining room deck, a great place to lounge, view the beach, and interact with other guests too.
The hotel, located on the island of Great Exuma, was built to harmonize with the natural surroundings. It is a great example of low-impact resource and land use.
Solar power provides 100% of the energy for this hotel. Water is supplied from water collection too. They are even making news with their composting toilets.
