I was surprised by how much green action this hotel is taking; they have a ways to go still, but are moving in the right direction.

This hotel has CFL bulbs in all lamps in the room, though the ballast in the bathroom lights is bad and the noises it makes are dreadful. The CFLs on the patio are on 24x7, but at least they are CFL. I loved sitting on the patio watching the various boats scooting up and down the river or the lights reflecting on the night river.

The single-serve brew coffee fixes the problem of coffee-stained pots and filter holders, but it adds the problem of increased trash because of more wrappers and the plastic filter trays. It was a disappointment to have paper cups instead of ceramic mugs; my travel mug didn't quite fit so I held it in place while the coffee dripped in -- and it was worth the effort because the coffee was great! And bird-friendly. There were glasses on coasters, but I didn't see replacement glasses on the housekeeping cart -- sanitized "in place" cups?

Towels are 100% cotton but the shower curtain liner was vinyl, a change I hope that happens as the liners wear out. I was surprised there was no bathrobe, though there was an extra blanket.

Delightfully they honored their sheet and towel reuse program -- they change sheets and towels when you request. They didn't even change the bathmat!
